safe & sound

quick note.
thanks for the comments and emails. .
we are all fine, pretty scary though, still have many aftershocks...
k-chan and kou-chan were in shinjuku having lunch (central Tokyo) so I walked for 2 and a half hours from my office to find them. took 3 hours to find them as phones were down. we couldn't get home bcos all trains were cancelled so spent the night in a temporary shelter; naturally didn't get much sleep, kou-chan was unsettled and just wanted a clean nappy.
finally made it home on the subway this morning. our apartment is ok, few things toppled over but that's nothing for what others have experienced up north of tokyo. my heart goes out to them...
we have a bag ready to run if need be...

hope all in japan are safe; thinking of you all.

yes, the relief when I saw them was huge. very hard to explain in words but I'm just so glad they were safe and warm.

I didn't know you had family in Christchurch!?
you must have been worried sick, but I'm so glad to hear that your family are all safe. are they still in the city now?
let's hope that mother nature calms down, we've all had enough.
