Le Creuset

i thought queueing up for cake was pretty crazy, but guess what i have done this weekend?
i queued up for pots and pans.

yup.
pots and pans.

i seldom wake up in time to see the sun rise, but with a view like this i'm thinking i should set my alarm a bit earlier have a peek and then go back to sleep

so as the sun was waking up i was already in a queue which was growing longer and longer by the minute.
after a leg numbing two and a half hours (what were we thinking!?) we finally entered a room jam packed with orange boxes.
some might call this room "le creuset heaven".
but in reality is was more like someone had let out a herd of agitated bulls in a china shop.
it was chaotic. to put it nicely.
this was the yearly hong kong le creuset sale.

thank god we has some idea of what we wanted... a pot.
we quickly found the pot but for some odd reason we walked out of the le creuset sale with a bit more than the pot in question.

but on a positive note, i can now pump some weights at home.
these weigh a tonne! and they don't even have any food in them yet!

wow- the things we queue for in life! i've never heard of le creuset and could think of better ways of spending my mornings, but then again, if these things make food taste better, then i'm all for it! :)

come on, you don't know le creuset!?

"Le Creuset was founded in 1925 in Northern France by two Belgian industrialists - Armand Desaegher (a casting specialist) and Octave Aubecq (an enameling specialist). The pair introduced the signature Le Creuset round cocotte (French/Dutch Oven) soon after; the cocotte remains the company's most popular cookware piece to this day."

(from wiki)

to tell the truth, i didn't know about it until after living in japan...
rumor has it that whatever you cook in a le creuset will taste way better. i have yet to put it to the test, so stay tuned!

I know a lot of people who get these pots claiming they are 'different', do post to let us know whether these pots are good, and how good they are. I still have no idea 'how good' they are.
For now, I will just settle down with T-fals :)

apart from being heavy (they are cast iron!) and expensive, i have also only heard good things about these colorful pots.

have yet to try them out but will definitely let you know the result.
