Olympia Graeco Egyptian Coffee

i'm going to tell the world you, my delightful blog readers sekimachihato's well keep secret which i have managed to keep for the past six years.

if you are in hong kong and looking for the best roasted coffee beans, you are in luck because i know just the place.

located at the top of an extremely steep hill is the olympia graeco egyptian coffee store.
around six years ago i was stupid enough to wander up this hill in the heat of summer (i now know to start at the top and walk down!) but was rewarded at the top with a delicious aroma of freshly roasted coffee.

mr ho has been roasting coffee beans in his small store since the 1950s and i really hope he continues to fire up those beans for many years to come as his coffee beans are simply the best!
my favorite roast is the premium blend (HK$100 per pound) with it's rich aroma and amazing taste.
nothing beats grinding some freshly roasted beans at home and then enjoying a hot coffee with a magazine.
bliss!!

you may need to disturb a napping mr ho when you enter his store, but believe me he will be most happy to have a chat with you.

Might give it a try! Been looking for a place with good coffee beans. I'll make sure to start from the top.

if you start at the top (caine road) you only have to walk a few steps and you are already there.

i like the kind of stores where you can chat with the owner. unless the owner is an asshole, that is. (the guy in my local shop is rude, so i go to the big supermarket instead) but i bet mr ho is nice. do you speak to him in cantonese?

what's up with your local guy?
did you do something to piss him off? lol

oh i'm the same, i love being able to have a bit of a chat with the shop keeper, i think it's important.
mr ho is lovely. he speaks pretty good english but i do through in the odd cantonese word here and there to surprise him.
