fog and le creuset

a few days ago i thought i was turning into the male version of rapunzel, living high-up in a tower shrouded by clouds.
believe me, i would say yes to clouds any day, but unfortunately no clouds were shrouding me, instead i was wrapped up in wet humid fog.
and unlike rapunzel i wasn't waking to the sound of chirpy blue forest birds. no no no, i got woken up to the noise of a long deep drowning horn from the huge cruise liner ships trying to navigate through the dense fog outside my bedroom window.

but hallelujah, we have been hit by a cold spell and the fog has vanished. last weekend the temperature was 28, yesterday it dropped down to 8.
a 20-degree drop over a matter of days is a wardrobe horror story, but at least the fog has dissolved and i can finally wake up to a view of the sun (no
chirpy blue forest birds yet...).

so with this cold snap in full blast we at long last pulled out
my extremely hard-earned le creuset pot and put it to use.
i know i know, talk about embarrassing. i mean, who goes to all that trouble for a pot (read here) only to put it away for the next half a year (er... mr sekimachihato)
gotta say, the creamy winter stew chockablock with organic seasonal vegetables k-chan whipped up in our le creuset pot was divine!

oh no...
there was another le creuset sale, and in the same building where i work...
i just bought another two more le creuset pots!

love the foggy pictures! it's amazing how a little fog makes everything a bit magical!

and boy, again with the pots?! shouldn't you be saving for the baby? who's gonna tell the baby: sorry, we couldn't afford a crib, but mummy and daddy have lots of really cool pots! lol :-D

wow! that is hong kong in fog? the view is really amazing! Even though it is super humid!

I am so jealous of your white le creuset! And your soup looks so good! What other pots did you buy?! I want to see!

yea, amazing picts there!

Get the pots while you can! when you are old, you will be too feeble to carry them back home!

A fog! What is that? A humid fog? Eep, I want to experience one, since it's been years since the last. Ha.

And pots and pans are good investment. As long as you use them until they're not usable anymore. Well, that's what my mom says anyway.

I can relate with those damn sales in the same building. And they always come during payday no less!

yup, this is the view from my bedroom window. i think i prefer the view on a sunny day though.

i will show you my pots slowely overtime! if i put them all up at once it would make me feel like maybe i did go a bit pot-crazy!

it's a humid-fog alright! another one has arrived today...
he makes your hair go frizzy and doesn't let your freshly washed clothes dry, not nice!

and i'll be sure to use these pots until the handles fall off. (well, k-chan will, i'm a terrible cook, i need to measure out everything!)

I was just gonna bitch about the fog at 'my place' but seems like you've done it for me already. After the bizarre 8 degree thingy it's starting to cloud up again.

I could usually see the lights of HK from my balcony but it was pitch black last night. You notice the ground is all wet too and it wasn't even raining WTF. Talk about a bad hair day.

god, tell me about it! like you said everything is wet and it's hasn't even rained! did you see the humidity level this morning? it was 99%! wtf!
oh and frizzy hair... if only i could wear a cap to the office.

we cooked a sausage, potato and leek (with a dash of horseradish) thing - pure winter comfort food :0)

That one-pot meal looks perfect for a cold, foggy day... Even better with someone to share it with. :)
