not knowing when our small family of two will suddenly become three, k-chan and i are trying to make the most out of our days off before we have a crying pooping bundle of joy in our arms.
obviously we can't do anything too extraneous or travel too far afield, so instead we are doing lots of chilling out at cafes and going for short walks before summer kicks in and it becomes to blimmin hot to even go outside.
you know how you often hear pregnant women have weird cravings? (like the lady i read about who suddenly found herself licking an ashtray...) well thank my lucky stars as k-chan has a fairly "normal" craving, a craving for bread.
rice has gone out of fashion in our place; as anytime of the day it's "i want some pan" (pan = bread in japanese).
k-chan's cravings often lead us to simplylife bakery cafe.
i'm so not fond of shopping mall cafes (yes, it's located in a mall...), but with hong kong's lack of space sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.
but hey, i was all smiles as i finally found somewhere in this concrete jungle who can pull off a pretty good eggs benedict! finally!!!
god knows why they don't call it eggs benedict on the menu though?! it's just called something boring like eggs with bacon on toast.
inside festival walk shopping mall
bought some whole grain bread for breakfast

'pan' sounds good to me!!! :D
you should be happy she has bread cravings! mines were french fries towards the end, so fattening!
Ah, weird cravings and all that... Pan/bread is relatively mild and the other half doesn't have to suffer so much to indulge as well - lucky you! ;)
haha, licking an ashtray?! omg. good to hear k-chan has more normal cravings!
the danish in the pics are making me drool! :-D

believe me, i'm sure she would scoff down some french fries if they were in reach!

yes, i would be worse for weather if i had to join in and eat steak all the time, or some weird combination of food. i love pan too, so pretty lucky in that respect.
