exactly one week ago today, on the morning of may the 11th, kou-chan was born.
it's official! i'm now a dad to a beautiful boy!
to tell the truth, i'm exhausted and about to crash.
i will do an update again soon, but in the meantime here is kou-chan taken on the day he was born.

little kou-chan has only been home for a few days so it's a huge learning curve for us; a great one though. just trying to get into a feeding routine at the moment which is not that easy.

Congratulations - belatedly. I hope everything went well for K-chan and you - being there patting her brow and sponging up the obscenities that seem to go hand in hand with childbirth - well for me anyway. Japanese nurses would have learnt a few new ones :)
Kou-chan is well cute. I hope having his Japanese granny there for the first wee bit of his life isn't too traumatic for him - you, or K-chan. I just about got stoned down in the street by the local baachans for taking our first out in the pram on a beautiful summers day when he was two weeks old.
Is your MIL staying until he's 100 days old? In our neck of the woods it is just 30 days of darkened rooms and not seeing the light of day. Whatever.

10 hours of back rubs and brow blotting was starting to take its toll on me but as soon as i saw that little head start peeking out all my energy came flooding back.
come today it's another story... i'm back at work and in need of a deep sleep. i guess all will be forgotten though when i get back home and see little kou-chan.
re the japanese granny, i'm blessed and have one of those rare mother in laws who are super easy to get on with. she said as long as her grandson can speak japanese i'll be in her good books for life.
and nope, she's only here for 20-odd days or so, then we are on our own! bit of a scary thought at the moment...
