had a beautiful sunny day for it and all in all it turned out to be a great idea as the kids could run around on the grass and play on their bikes while us adults chilled out in the sun sipping our drinks and supervising.
the best thing about it was at the end of the day we didn’t have to worry about cleaning up had it been a house-party.

Oh! Happy Birthday dear Kou-Chan!And the park looks very idyllic -- perfect for a birthday celebration. Let the kids frolic, and let the adults chill. :)

funny you should mention cupcakes.
he shared his birthday month with another girl at kindy so yesterday they held a little party for them and they all got homemade (kindy-made) cupcakes!
apparently kou-chan ate two!! that's my boy.

it's a great park on the outskirts of tokyo and is absolutely huge! lots of open space, just what kids need!

thanks Pascale.
times like this and it makes me happy that he wasn't born during winter. although I'm sure we'd find some cozy indoor party ideas.
Two already! So soon... oh how happy they look running in the grass. Makes me wanna be a kid again. :)
Happy 2nd birthday, Kou-chan!

thanks Kenny!
don't kids have it good!!
their only worry in the world is where they last put down the little green truck or if there's any more jelly in the fridge.
happy b day kou-chan! time sure flies eh? wonderful pics, it looks so idylic with the grass and balloons! i could see myself have a birthday like that! btw, can he speak now?

yes, he's a right little chatterbox!! unfortunately he's coming out with a lot more Japanese than English but when I ask him questions in English he can pretty much reply to them.
often see him counting his cars in English too. he can now count up to ten in both languages.
yay for bilingualism! it's so cool how he'll be able to speak both english and japanese.
2 years already??!! happy 2nd b'day to kou chan!
it looks like you had a brilliant afternoon
