k-chan's mum came over from japan for a bit of post-surgery support.
within her never-ending bag of goodies was some walnut (胡桃 : kurumi) treats from patisserie hanaoka; a local store in her hometown.
(くるみの初恋 : kurumi no hatsukoi)
each of these delicate bite-size walnut infused meringues are made by hand daily.
kurumi no hatsukoi was first created 31 years ago and is still going strong today.
1 bag : 450 yen
(胡桃の醍醐味 : kurumi no daigomi)
another bite-sized morsel is this creamy cheese cake with a delicious walnut biscuit base.
1 piece : 150 yen
nothing beats a yummy cheesecake, some freshly brewed coffee and good conversation!

it really is yummy cheese cake (so it should be for 150 yen a pop!)
and yup, the simplicity of japanese design always does it for me too.
there is just no need to "go over the top" is there!
Love the Japanese little sweets?!
ME TOOOOOOOOOOO... haha (who doesn't?!)
I hope K is doing better now.
